Police: Long Island Man Threw Molotov Cocktail Into Ex-Girlfriend's Home
The 21-year-old allegedly set fire to a car and then threw a Molotov cocktail into a house Tuesday morning.

Joseph Ferrufino, 21, of Baldwin, was arrested Tuesday for arson after he allegedly set a car on fire and then threw a Molotov cocktail into the house of an ex-girlfriend.
The incident happened at 6:05 a.m. at 2604 Harrison Avenue, police said.
According to the police, Ferrufino, of 1363 Anna Place, ignited a flammable liquid that he had poured onto a 2015 Mercedes-Benz, then threw the Molotov cocktail through a second story window of the home. The homeowner chased Ferrufino north on Harrison Avenue, but was unable to catch him, police said.

However, he was able to identify Ferrufino as his daughter’s ex-boyfriend.
According to the Public Information Office, First Precinct officers responded to the home for a CAPER alarm activation. The CAPER alarm, an emergency alert system that contacts 911 immediately, was installed due to an attempted arson on Nov. 17 at 8:53 p.m. at the residence.

Officers from the First Precinct located Ferrufino at Grand and Stanton avenues, and after a brief chase on foot apprehended him on Grand Avenue, just south of West Carl Avenue.
A woman, 41, sustained smoke inhalation and first degree burns to her legs and a 13-year-old girl had a laceration to her foot. Two officers received minor injuries during the apprehension.
The investigation is ongoing.
Ferrufino is being charged with first-degree and third-degree arson. He was to be arraigned Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
