Long Island University Breaks Ground On State-Of-The-Art College Of Science
The $30-million project will lead to 50 full-time research and academic positions.

BROOKVILLE, NY — Long Island University officially broke ground on a cutting-edge facility that will house the College of Science.
The 40,000-square-foot building will advance undergraduate and graduate programs across the life sciences, natural sciences, computer science and artificial intelligence.

- Advanced research laboratories
- Incubator for emerging research
- Innovation hub with collaborative workspaces
- Modern classrooms designed to foster interdisciplinary learning and discovery
It will also be home to the nation’s first Bachelor of Engineering in Digital Engineering.
The new facility will also serve as the hub for the Dassault Systèmes Center of Excellence, a partnership that positions LIU at the national forefront of digital engineering, biomedical engineering and artificial intelligence.

The building is made possible in part through funding from New York State.
“Governor Hochul’s unwavering commitment to Long Island is driving transformative investments that strengthen our regional economy and position us for long-term success," said Empire State Development Board Chairman Kevin Law. "The $10 million from the Long Island Investment Fund for Long Island University’s new research and innovation facility is a powerful example of that vision in action—supporting cutting-edge science, fueling biotech growth, and creating good jobs right here on Long Island."
When completed in 2027, the center is projected to create approximately 750 temporary jobs, along with 50 full-time research and academic positions.
