Long Stretch Of Overnight Lane Closures Set To Begin On Southern State

The eastbound repairs from Exit 20 to Exit 22 are expected nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., according to the state D.O.T.

BALDWIN, NY — Drivers should prepare for several weeks of expected delays on the Southern State Parkway. The state Department of Transportation announced that two eastbound lanes will be closed from Exit 20 (Baldwin Road/Grand Avenue) to Exit 22 (Meadowbrook State Parkway). The construction is expected to each night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., starting on Monday evening.

Work, on pavement resurfacing, is scheduled to last for approximately six weeks, weather permitting.

Previously announced westbound lane closures from Exit 32 (Route 110) to Exit 27 (Wantagh State Parkway) will not take place at this time, the DOT said.
