Man Threatens, Strikes Officers, Faces Assault Charge: Police

The man was arrested in Baldwin just before 11 p.m. Saturday, police say.

BALDWIN, NY. — A 40-year-old man threatened and attacked officers while being arrested Saturday night in Baldwin, police said.

Nassau County police said 40-year-old Jocelain Guillaume was arrested in connection with two open bench warrants Saturday night and began threatening officers while being transported to an NCPD precinct. When Guillaume reached the precinct he became combative and a violent struggle ensued, during which Guillaume struck an officer in the face and broke his chain, police said.

Guillaume was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief, police said. His arraignment was scheduled for Sunday.
