Artists Envision Hudson Valley's Future in New Exhibition

WHITE PLAINS, NY – A new exhibition at ArtsWestchester asks: What can the Hudson Valley look like in 100 years?

Futures is an immersive exhibition of large-scale and installation-based artworks. ArtsWestchester invited artists to envision built and social transformation by giving them a seat at the table while planning the show.

“ArtsWestchester places artists at the center of imagining our region’s next chapter,” explains ArtsWestchester CEO Kathleen Reckling. She continues, “Artists work at the intersection of visual culture, craft, architecture, and design. Through their perspectives in this exhibit, we aim to explore concepts of historic land ownership, building inclusive communities, creative placemaking, and sustainable development.”

As Westchester County and the Hudson Valley changes through redevelopment, ArtsWestchester is committed to demonstrating how the arts are fundamental to the social well-being of our region and capacity for aiding in conversations about the future. Our built environment is a mix of suburban and exurban communities that is redeveloping rapidly and is changing the role of the arts, culture, and economy.

Futures is, in part, funded by the National Endowment of the Arts. The exhibition runs through January 12, 2025.
