RYE, NY—Dr. Jonathan Ross, superintendent of the Rye Union Free School District, has proposed a preliminary 2017-2018 school budget of $43,915,067 for Blind Brook schools. The new budget is only a 1.57 percent increase over the 2016-17 budget and remains within the tax cap.
Some of the new budget will be used to hire additional teachers.
A budget workshop takes place tomorrow, on Saturday, March 4, with budget discussion meetings that the public can attend scheduled for March 20 and April 3. The budget will be adopted on April 18, followed by a public budget hearing on May 8 and the vote on May 16.
