Illegal Road Signs Reported on Evergreen

A Rye resident complained that Evergreen Avenue residents had their own signs posted in the middle of Evergreen Avenue that could have caused danger.

Rye resident Jim Amico reported illegal road signs on Evergreen Avenue on April 15 at 8:12 p.m. Police responded and moved the “slow children at play” signs onto private property there, according to the police blotter.  The next day the signs were moved into the road again and police had them moved back to private property, where they stayed the following day, according to Police Commissioner William Connors.  If they find the signs in the roadway again, they will be confiscated, Connors said at the most recent city council meeting.

The photo shown here is one of the several illegal road signs that Amico reported.
