
A New Rochelle man was killed in a motorcycle crash on I-95 in Rye on Sunday night, New York State Police said today. Thomas Saccomanno, 56, was driving his motorcycle erratically and weaving between cars at a high rate of speed before the fatal crash, authorities said.
Saccomanno was alone traveling northbound on I-95 and crashed while trying to get off exit 21 in Rye around 5:56 p.m., authorities said. He fell off the bike and broke his neck, according to The Journal News’ Shawn Cohen. Port Chester, Rye and Rye Brook emergency crews responded to the scene but Saccamanno was unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Westchester County Medical Examiner.
No other vehicles were involved and no other injuries were reported.
