• Rye Returns Four Starters From Section Champion Girls Basketball Team (ryerecord.com) — Rye High School’s girls basketball team returns four starters from last year’s Section 1 championship run and is eyeing another deep postseason push. Coach Margo Hackett highlights rising standouts and new additions as the Garnets open on the road before hosting Eastchester on Dec. 19 and rival Harrison on Dec. 23.
   

• Rye man attacked in home invasion (cityreviewnr.com) — A 61-year-old Elizabeth Street resident in Rye reported being attacked in his home late on Nov. 30, prompting a police investigation. Detectives later arrested a Rye Brook man on burglary and related charges after the victim identified him from a photo array, and a judge issued an order of protection with a court date set for Dec. 9.
   

• City Council KO's Mayor's Proposal to Hire Lawyer to Conduct Rye Ethics Code Review (ryerecord.com) — Rye’s City Council has rejected Mayor Josh Cohn’s push to hire an outside attorney for a formal review of the city’s decades-old ethics code, voting 4–2 against the plan. The decision follows controversy over a 2023 ethics opinion tied to a tree-clearing moratorium near the mayor’s home, with departing and incoming officials sharply divided over whether an outside review is needed and unbiased.
