• Burglary Suspect Caught After Leaving Car in Rye Driveway, Police Say (talkofthesound.com) — Rye police say a burglary suspect linked to a Drake Smith Lane break-in is in custody in New Jersey after a homeowner’s Audi was stolen and another car was left blocking a driveway. Officers used security footage, a recovered vehicle, and scene evidence to tie the man to the Rye burglary, and local warrants have now been signed as the investigation continues.

• Crime Trends: Leaf Blower Summonses Surge Again in November, Data Shows (ryerecord.com) — Rye residents are seeing a major spike in quality-of-life enforcement, with 229 leaf blower summonses issued in November compared with just one a year earlier, according to police data. Traffic stops, arrests, and overall calls for service also climbed sharply across city streets and intersections, reflecting stepped-up patrols and targeted overtime.

• Hudson Valley, New York Driver Passed Out On Sidewalk With 27 Gas Cans (hudsonvalleypost.com) — Rye police say they found a driver unconscious in a running car on a Forest Avenue sidewalk and later discovered 27 nitrous oxide canisters in the vehicle. The man, from Norwalk, Connecticut, was charged with driving while impaired by drugs and issued traffic violations, with a court appearance scheduled in City of Rye Court.
