• Overweight Dump Trucks Pulled Off Rye Roads After Massive Violations (talkofthesound.com) — Rye police recently pulled two heavily overweight dump trucks off Boston Post Road and nearby streets after inspections uncovered serious safety and weight violations. Officers cited issues like unsecured loads, voided or missing divisible-load permits, and trucks exceeding legal weight limits by tens of thousands of pounds. The department says these crackdowns protect both public safety and the city’s road infrastructure.

• Netflix Sets Up Cameras in Rye for New ‘Unaccustomed Earth' Adaptation (ryerecord.com) — Netflix crews just wrapped a day of filming for the new “Unaccustomed Earth” series on Playland Parkway and nearby streets, briefly rerouting traffic and paying the City of Rye $8,000 for permits. Residents shared their excitement as their hometown—and familiar spots like Rye Beach Avenue—once again doubled as a TV backdrop, following last year’s Apple TV shoot with Jon Hamm.

• Rivertown Legends Score 4 Straight Goals to Hand Rye Hockey First Loss of Season (ryerecord.com) — Rye High’s Garnets hockey team took their first loss of the season Wednesday, falling 4–2 to Division 1 power Rivertown Legends at Playland despite goals from senior Will Molin and sophomore Colin Nigro. Coach Peter Thomas said the talented squad needs to rely less on individual play and more on “team hockey” as they quickly regroup to host Clarkstown at Playland Friday night.
