Rye Pioneers Teen Mental Health Program (ryerecord.com) — Rye Youth Council is leading a teen-driven mental health program at Rye High and Middle Schools that trains students to spot warning signs and guide friends to help. The Peer to Peer clubs are running stigma-busting campaigns, meeting regularly with faculty mentors, and positioning Rye as the first school community in New York State to adopt this evidence-based model.
   

2. Learning the How and Why of Fermenting Food (ryerecord.com) — A sold-out fermentation workshop at the Bird Homestead and Meeting House Conservancy in Rye showed neighbors how to turn simple cabbage into probiotic, waste-cutting preserved food. Led by local teacher and environmental activist Doug Carey, the hands-on session mixed food science, sustainability tips, and even a little group singing as participants prepared jars to finish fermenting at home.

Audre Marie Quinlan, 100 (portcitydaily.com) — Longtime Rye resident Audre Marie Quinlan, a Rye High School graduate and active member of the Rye Garden Club and Rye Senior Center, has died at 100. A devoted nurse, community volunteer, and mother, she later moved to North Carolina, where her funeral Mass will be held on December 15, with family inviting all who knew her to attend.
