"We’ve had such a celebratory summer season to mark the 95th anniversary of Playland this year, from the grand reopening of Playland beach and pool, the arrival of the World’s Largest Rubber Duck and her duckling, as well as the recent return of the historical ferry service from New York City and so much more in between," Playland General Manager Jeff Davis said. "Before we wrap our season, we wanted to introduce some special new experiences and continue to offer dynamic programming for our guests and local community."
Those special experiences kick off with the upcoming holiday weekend with the crowd-favorite Labor Day fireworks shows (Saturday, Sept. 2 and Sunday, Sept. 3, at 8:30 p.m.).

The Playland "Neon Glow Dance Party" is back by popular demand on Saturday, Sept. 9. The seaside event comes complete with beach games and music, as attendees are donned with neon glow items. The fun starts at 6 p.m. at Playland Beach. The Neon Glow Party is free with admission to the beach and pool.
A newer tradition at Playland is returning in September as well. Ahead of the 22nd anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Playland is honoring the men and women who dedicate their lives to serving and protecting their communities with free admission to the park. Emergency vehicles will be on display for the weekend between the hours of noon and 4 p.m. Park hours are noon to 9 p.m. on September 9, and noon to 8 p.m. on September 10.
Beginning September 16, on every Saturday at 7:15 p.m., visitors will be treated to screenings of family-friendly films at Playland Park. Movie nights are in the amusement park and are free with park admission.
That admission will be considerably more affordable starting September 16. Visitors can take advantage of special amusement park admission during September weekends with a back-to-school "Play Like a Kid" offer. Everyone can take advantage of discounted admission at Junior pricing; $19.99 for Westchester residents and $24.99 for all others.
