Proposed $113M Rye City School District Budget On The Ballot May 20
Also on the ballot are two candidates vying for two seats on the Board of Education.
RYE, NY — The 2025 budget and school board vote is May 20, and two seats are up for election on the school district board.
The proposed spending plan of $113,267,267 is 2.45 percent higher than the current budget.
The tax levy is expected to be increased 3.66 percent.

"Similar to years past, 84 percent of the annual school district budget is fixed costs, including health insurance, salaries, and retirement benefits for our valued faculty and staff," the Board of Education said. "As is the case with every Rye resident, the RCSD has seen costs increase as a result of inflation, with the price of everything from electricity to gas to water all increasing. The budget maintains and continues all current programs, supports small class sizes, and funds new instructional opportunities... Student wellness and sense of belonging continue to be an important focus for the District... The school budget not only supports the academic development of our students but also maintains the Board's commitment to upgrading and maintaining the District's facilities. Safety and security have been a high priority for the past several years..."
