According to the school board, "over 77 percent of the 2023-23 School District budget goes towards salaries and benefits for our valued faculty and staff. As is the case with every Rye resident, the RCSD has seen costs increase as a result of inflation... As a result, the District administration and Board of Education are bringing forward an annual budget that adds no new faculty, staff, or programs but maintains our commitment to high standards and rigorous instruction."

Two board seats were up for election. Candidates running included: Tom Stein and Shaun Kloepfer. Both were elected. Shaun Kloepfer received 669 votes and Tom Stein 677 votes.
