Sandy Fees Delayed in Rye Brook; Ridge Street Bridge Closure June 5

An update from the Village of Rye Brook: 
Village Board Waives Sandy Related Fees Until October 31, 2013 The Village of Rye Brook Board of Trustees passed a resolution to extend the waiver of the following permit and applications fees in connection with restoration, clean-up and reconstruction work resulting from Hurricane Sandy until October 31, 2013: 

1. All Building Permit Fees
2. All Certificate of Occupancy Fees
3. All Demolition Permit Fees
4. All Electrical Permit Fees
5. All Plumbing Permit Fees
6. All Fence & Wall Permit Fees

Building Permit Amnesty Program Expiring May 31st 

The Building Permit Amnesty Program will remain in effect until May 31, 2013. This Amnesty Program waves the Administrative Fine for work completed without the proper permits, and in most cases also waives the need to go to the Board of Architectural Review. The Administrative Fine that is being waived is 12% of the current day construction costs with a minimum fee of $500 and a maximum fee of $3,500. For further information please visit the Rye Brook website or contact the Building Department at (914) 939-0668 

Ridge Street Bridge Closure Over I-287 from June 5 through August 16 

The first stage of this NYS Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) project construction effort began on May 6th.  The bridge carrying Ridge Street over I-287 in the Village of Rye Brook will be closed to traffic from Wednesday, June 5 through August 16, 2013.  A signed detour will direct Ridge Street traffic onto Purchase Street (Route 120) and Westchester Avenue (Rte 120A) for the duration of the closure. Prior to the Ridge Street bridge closure, nighttime lane closures on I-287 will occur to prepare the site.  This nighttime work will not impact Ridge Street.  All construction is expected to be completed by September 4th. The following weekly progress report has been provided to the village by the NYSDOT: 
Current Status-     Initial layout and installation of detour signs complete; will be reviewed and remain covered until closure date.
