SOUL RYEDERS Hosts Half Marathon & 5K Held in Rye to Raise Funds

SOUL RYEDERS, a non-profit cancer support organization in Rye, NY, was thrilled by the awe-inspiring community support and overwhelming participation in their inaugural race event. Exuberance surrounded the uplifting milestone throughout the morning. Over 1,100 runners/walkers were enthusiastically cheered by hundreds of spectators along the local streets of the beautiful shoreline course and at the finish line, in Playland Park. The elated crowd were entertained by live music from The M62s, Rhythm on Rye a cappella and Junk Male, and a spirited desire to support this worthwhile cause. Over $95,000 was raised to support the organization.

According to SOUL RYEDERS’s Executive Director, Heidi Kitlas, “The funds were raised through our participants' peer-to-peer fundraising efforts and will be used for our programs and services to provide support for those impacted by any type of cancer. This event is another way for us to convey to all those impacted by a cancer diagnosis and those who are part of our community of care: they will never be alone. We are looking forward to planning next year’s event!”
