Two New Attractions at Playland's Haunted House This Year
Demented pumpkins and a terror trail will make "Scared by the Sound" extra frightening.

This information was submitted by Westchester County: Zombies, ghouls, ghosts and creeps eagerly await you when theΒ βScared by the Soundβ Haunted HouseΒ returns with two additional all new attractions for the Halloween season, beginning Friday, Oct. 5Β atΒ Playland Park in Rye.
Visitors are invited into the 10,000-square-foot haunt, which features a spooky wine cellar, library, sanitarium and more. The attractionβs βtunnel of doomβ is a spook-fest from beginning to end, and the waterfront cemetery and mausoleum are spine-tingling treats.
But more intense startles and scares await...those who journey through the new βDemented Pumpkin Patchβ and βTerror Trailβ will find themselves amid βunstableβ inhabitants as they walk through a path of intricately carved and lit pumpkins, wander through cornfields and stumble upon a slaughter house in their trespass. Hours for βScared by the Soundβ are Fridays, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturdays, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Sundays, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 29 - 31, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
In addition to the regular shows, βHardly Haunted Matineesβ providing non-scary fun for children under 8 years of age will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 27 and 28 from noon to 4 p.m.

Light refreshments and beverages will be available for sale each evening.
Admission for βScared by the Soundβ is $16 for adults, $12 for children under 12, and $5 for Hardly Haunted Matinees; admission for βThe Demented Pumpkin Patch/Terror Trailβ is $12 for all ages; combo tickets offer savings on admission to both events at $25 for adults, and $20 for children under 12.Β Go toΒ scaredbythesound.comΒ to purchase tickets online by credit card.
