World's Largest Rubber Duck Splashing Into Westchester For 1st Time

RYE, NY — Connecticut beaches have second homes for the one percenters, New Jersey beaches have the casinos, Long Island beaches have shark attacks, but only Playland Beach in Rye can boast a visit from the world's largest rubber duck.

Playland announced today that The World’s Largest Rubber Duck, along with her baby duckling, will make a big splash at the amusement park from Friday, July 28 to Sunday, July 30, making a Westchester County stop following a North American tour with prior stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto, and Detroit.

The 61-foot high (equivalent of a six-story high building) Mama Duck will be perched with her ten-foot-high Baby Duckling at Playland Beach. Fun photo ops will be available for all visitors.

"We’re thrilled to welcome The World’s Largest Rubber Duck and her duckling to Playland this summer," Jeff Davis, General Manager of Playland, said. "We want to continue to create memorable and unique experiences for our visitors that last for generations, and it’s special that this is The World’s Largest Rubber Duck’s first visit to Westchester County. Later this summer, we’re looking forward to announcing a variety of new events, celebrations, and experiences for all of our guests."

In honor of The World’s Largest Rubber Duck’s arrival, Playland will be offering a "Lucky Duck" giveaway at select game prizes for a chance to win complimentary 2024 season passes for four.

Sponsored by Jeep and Pepsi, The World’s Largest Rubber Duck and her duckling will be located at Playland Beach, close to the 35-foot water slide, as well as near other activities such as volleyball, kayaking, paddleboarding, and weekend entertainment such as live steel drums performances.

Playland Pool, which recently reopened for the first time since 2019, features several infrastructure improvements, in addition to upgrades to the locker rooms, bathhouse and pool deck. Brand-new features and amenities include zero depth entry, a dedicated splash zone for younger children, new lounge furniture, and a sundry shop with sunscreen, sunglasses, towels, and swimsuits available for purchase.
