3-Year-Old Wandered Hotel Hallway While LI Mom Gambled: Cops

A Long Island mom left her children alone in a hotel room while she gambled, police say.

A 3-year-old girl was found wandering a hotel hallway and her 6-year-old brother was alone in the room while their mother gambled in the hotel casino, police said.

Nicole Jones, 35, of Farmingville, was arrested and charged with child endangerment for leaving the children alone at the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, Penn.

According to police, security guards found the 3-year-old girl wandering the third-floor hotel hallway alone and called police around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police determined the girl came out of the room and found her 6-year-old brother sleeping alone in the room, officials said.

According to officials, police used video surveillance and spotted Jones' boyfriend, who was not charged, leaving the room around 11:30 p.m. to meet Jones in the casino.

Jones said she thought her boyfriend was with the children, police said.
