Brookhaven To Install Solar Panels At Town Hall Soon

The Town of Brookhaven will be finished installing solar panels at Town Hall by the end of the month, officials said.

More than 3,800 solar units will be installed at town hall, which is located at 1 Independence Hall.

In 2014, the town awarded PSEG with a feed-in-tariff to develop solar arrays at four sites in town. The sites include the Holtsville Ecology Center, Brookhaven Calabro Airport in Shirley, the town landfill and a compost facility in Manorville.

The panels are expected to generate 1,322 kilowatts, which is enough to power 151 homes, town officials said.
