Brookhaven Town Offers $65 Adoptions At Animal Shelter

'Bark In The Mew Year' will run through January.

BROOKHAVEN, NY — The Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is offering $65 pet adoptions for its “Bark in the Mew Year” promotion in January.

Normal adoption fees are $137 for a dog and $140 for a cat.

Adoptions include free neutering or spaying, deworming FeLv/FIV testing for cats and kittens, vaccinations, microchipping, heartworm testing, flea prevention, and other tests. A “meet and greet” appointment must be made before visiting our dogs, but no appointment is needed to visit cats.

There are 81 cats and 70 dogs in the shelter.

Anyone interested in adopting a dog or cat, visit the shelter at 300 Horseblock Rd., Brookhaven.

The shelter is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
