'Canelo' And 'Cookie' Are Town Of Brookhaven's Lucky Dogs Of The Week

BROOKHAVEN, NY — "Canelo" and "Cookie" are the two lucky dogs of the week at the Town of Brookhaven's Animal Shelter and Adoption Center in Brookhaven.

"Canelo," a sweet gentle giant searching for love and ready to capture your heart with his charm and charisma, was surrendered by his owner and has been patiently awaiting a forever family to call his own, town officials said.

"Cookie," is a senior sweetheart who loves to be cuddled, social, a fantastic walker, housebroken, and full of love, according to officials. She prefers to be part of a family with children 10 years of age and up and the status as the only pet in the house, officials said. She is hearing impaired but she’s packed with spunk, according to officials.

The shelter is located at 300 Horseblock Road in Brookhaven. It is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
