Long Island Woman Killed After High Teen Crashes Vehicle Into Hers ID'd: Cops
UPDATE: Police have not released the name of the 50-year-old man involved in the crash.
UPDATE 10:15 a.m. Monday: Marion Napolitano, 73, did not have any last known address, police said.
CENTEREACH, NY — A teenage boy was behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle while impaired by drugs when it struck a sedan driven by an elderly woman, killing her in Centereach on Saturday night, Suffolk police said.
A 16-year-old boy was driving a stolen 2008 Land Rover LR2 eastbound on Middle Country Road when he crashed it into the rear of a sedan being driven by a 73-year-old woman at around 9:10 p.m., according to police.

The woman was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said, adding that a 50-year-old man, who was a passenger in the sedan, was taken to the same hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Their identities are being withheld pending notification of family.

The teen, who was not injured, tried to run away but was caught by an off-duty Suffolk officer.
Officers from the Selective Alcohol Fatality Enforcement Team charged the teen, who is not
being identified due to his age, with first-degree driving while ability impaired, police said. Major Case Unit detectives charged him with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, police said.
He was held overnight at the 6th Precinct in Selden pending his arraignment in the Youth Part of First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.
