Jordan Thomas Dies From Cancer at Age 10, T-Shirt Fundraiser Started to Help His Family
The Sachem fourth grader passed away Tuesday following a long battle with cancer.

Jordan Thomas, the Ronkonkoma boy who inspired us all to find our inner superhero, has died at the age of 10.
Jordan passed away at his home on Tuesday morning following a long and brave battle with cancer.
“Jordan was a cherished fourth grader in the Gatelot Family who had an infectious zest for life, and a smile that would instantly light up a room,” a post on the Sachem Schools Facebook page reads. “Jordan wasn’t shy about sharing his talents as a singer, dancer and actor. He also loved to draw a variety of pictures. His passing is a heart breaking loss to the Gatelot Family. He will remain in our hearts forever.”

Jordan’s superhero alter-ego Mr. Lightning had been featured in recent comic strips published on Sachem Patch.
An online fundraiser has been started to help Jordan’s family pay for funeral services. T-shirts featuring the likeness of Mr. Lightning can be purchased for $15 with all proceeds going directly to Jordan’s family.
