Karate Teacher From Ronkonkoma Sexually Abused Student: Cops

A karate teacher has been charged with sexually abusing a 14-year old female student, police said.

Michael Carretto, 26, of Ronkonkoma, was arrested on Thursday at 5:17 p.m. by the Special Victims Section at the Suffolk County Seventh Precinct in Shirley and charged with inappropriately touching a female student at the Dragon's Gate Martial Arts Academy on the Sunrise Highway South Service Road in Oakdale on Sept. 11, police said.

Carretto was charged with third degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, police said. He was held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday, police said.
