Landscaper Stabbed in Long Island 7-Eleven Parking Lot
Police say a landscaper got out of his truck and stabbed another landscaper who was working Thursday afternoon.
HOLTSVILLE, NY – A landscaper stabbed another landscaper in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven Thursday afternoon, Suffolk Police said.
According to police, a landscaper was cutting grass at the 7-Eleven located at 984 Waverly Ave. in Holtsville shortly before 4 p.m. when 31-year-old Jorge Sandoval, another landscaper with a past grudge against the man, exited his vehicle and stabbed him. The victim used his weed trimmer to fend off Sandoval and cut Sandoval’s arm in the process, police said.
Sandoval returned to his vehicle and he and the driver attempted to flee, police said.

A co-worker of the victim jumped in front of the vehicle to try to stop them, police said. The vehicle was going slowly and not stopping until Highway Patrol Officer Glen Ritchie arrived on the scene.
The victim, who police did not name, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Sandoval was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue with non-life threatening injuries.

Sixth Squad detectives charged Sandoval second degree assault. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
