Man Who Sexually Assaulted Woman, 74, In Suffolk Apartment After Climbing In Window Arrested: Police

HOLBROOK, NY — A Ridge man was arrested after climbing through the window into the apartment of a Holbrook woman, 74, Friday and then, physically and sexually assaulting her, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, Jawarren Booker, 29, was arrested and charged with first-degree rape and first-degree burglary. He was overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday, police said.

Police said that between 6:15 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. Friday, the woman was sitting on the couch when she was confronted by Booker, who had entered her apartment through a window. Booker confronted her and physically and sexually assaulted her, police said.

Booker fled and the woman called 911; she was transported to a hospital, police said.
