Jodeniss Martinez's dog Kala went missing in Farmingville on July 3 from a home at 80 Woodycrest Drive. She asks that people in the area keep an eye out for Kala and contact her immediately if the dog is found.
Kala is a seven-year-old Black Chow/Shepherd mix. She has dark fur, weighs about 44 pounds and has a purple collar. She was last seen in a wooded area near the intersection of North Ocean Avenue and Route 495 in Medford, pictured below:

Martinez is a resident of Brooklyn and was staying in Farmingville as a guest when Kala went missing. She believes Kala was scared by the sound of fireworks, and the dog is likely frightened and confused because she does not know the area.
Martinez says that anyone who see Kala should try not to startle her. If you do see her, Martinez can be reached at 1-786-663-2589.
"I'm beyond worried about her and would appreciate any help," Martinez said in a Facebook post. "Hoping and praying she's safe."
