Motorcyclist Killed In 2-Vehicle Crash In Suffolk: Police

The motorcyclist struck a car that was making a left turn, police say.

RONKONKOMA, NY — A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Ronkonkoma on Wednesday morning, Suffolk police said.

John Hannon, 25, of Patchogue, was riding a 2015 Honda motorcycle westbound on Veterans Memorial Highway when he struck an eastbound 2006 Toyota Tacoma making a left turn onto Artic Avenue at 6:15 a.m., police said.

Hannon was pronounced dead at Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue.

The Toyota driver, a 54-year-old Huntington man who was alone in the car, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

The vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
