North's Corey Gamblin Commits to NYIT

Joins growing list of North lax players to eventually play in college.

Sachem North senior Corey Gamblin has committed to play college lacrosse at New York Institute of Technology.

He is the fifth player from North’s roster to commit from the Class of 2012. Joining him at the next level of play are  (Rutgers),  (UMBC) and (Dowling), with more to come, according to Sachem coach Jay Mauro.

"Corey is a great kid who works extremely hard on the field, off the field and in the classroom," Sachem coach Jay Mauro said. "We are excited for him as he gets to play college lacrosse at a very high level."

Gamblin's brother Brandon is heading into his freshman year at Massachusetts, where he will play Division I lacrosse alongside former Sachem teammate Michael Andreassi.

NYIT plays in the East Coast Conference and finished 10-4 overall last season.
