Sachem Adds Junior Civic Club To Encourage Community Involvement
More than 30 students are already getting involved in their community through the club.

The Lake Ronkonkoma Civic Organization has partnered with Sachem Schools to create The Junior Civic Club at Samoset Middle School.
The club, which was recently advertised at the school's club fair, is now running and currently has 30 members.

With the support of a club adviser and student president, students take information reviewed at the organization's monthly civic meeting and discuss it at their Junior Civic Club meeting.
The club also listens to guest speakers who talk about civic duty and the importance of getting involved in the community.

One of the school's goals is to have a civic club at the high school level to inspire more students to participate in their community.
