Here are the top four stories in Sachem today:

1. A fight between teens and a trash can being knocked over prompted 911 calls at the Smith Haven Mall on Monday. Officers responded to Smith Haven Mall at 4:34 p.m. after multiple 911 callers reported possible shots fired but there were no confirmed gun shots. (Patch)
2. The second annual Patchogue Plunge, hosted by the Patchogue Young Professionals, will take place on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 13. This year's plunge will benefit the Gabby Petito Foundation. (Patch)
3. On Monday, there was confusion when people showed up to a new COVID-19 testing site in Hauppauge. The site was due to open Wednesday but some people had confirmed appointments with confirmation emails, text messages and even QR codes. (News 12)
4. Former New York Police Department chief Rodney Harrison started his new job in Suffolk on Monday, and became the first Black police commissioner in the county's history. (Patch)
