The Sachem Public Library is joining in on the holiday fun with a variety of seasonal events coming up.
On Saturday, Dec. 15, the library will host the opening reception of "Winter Wonderland Garden of Lights," a light tour with live music, a holiday train exhibit and family crafts. The indoor/outdoor celebration begins at 5:30 p.m. and will run to 8:30.
It will also run from Monday, Dec. 17 to Friday Dec. 21 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event was created in partnership with volunteers from the Sachem community.

Also beginning on Dec. 15 is the Winter Flea Market, Holiday Toy Drive and Local Music Showcase, which will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring a day to enter and enjoy local bands and performers "playing in the name of toys."
The library will be collecting new/unused and unwrapped toys for the Interface Toy Drive. There will be crafters, makers and other vendors for attendees to buy local for the holiday season.

No registration is required - and the event is suggested for grades 8 and up.
Community members can still bring a pair of winter gloves, scarves, socks or hats to hang on the library's "Mitten Tree." The winter apparel will be donated to those in need.
