Sachem Students Named All-State Musicians

Three students were honored by the New York State School Music Association.

Three talented student-musicians in the Sachem Central School District were selected by the New York State School Music Association to perform in the 2022 All-State Music Conference. An additional five students were chosen as alternates.

All-State

  • Sara Christie, HS East – Symphonic Band, French Horn
  • Dylan McKay, HS East – Symphonic Band, Trumpet
  • Jeremy Cruz, HS North – Mixed Chorus, Bass 2

Alternates

  • Gabrielle Dunn-Hickey, HS East – Chorus, Soprano 1
  • Jabiel Aqueron, HS East – Chorus, Tenor 2
  • Christopher Sneider, HS North – Band, French Horn
  • Jayson Greengold, HS North – Instrumental Jazz, Trumpet
  • Jacob Flores Zeranski, HS North – Orchestra, Violin

These Sachem students auditioned by participating in solo and ensemble evaluation festivals last spring. They are among the top musicians from school music departments across the state to be selected.

“There is a rigorous selection process with committee members from across the state,” Sachem Chairperson for Secondary Music Gerard Giglio said. “These students were selected to join almost 900 All-State musicians who are thoroughly prepared to have an experience of a lifetime in Rochester this December.”

The All-State Conference will take place in Rochester from Dec. 1-4.
