Sequoya’s Cynthia Brand is one of 75 students to be named a Long Island Youth Scholar of Mathematics.
She ranked in the top one-tenth of one percent for math students on a particular level. As a result, Brand has been accepted into the Institute of Creative Problem Solving for Gifted and Talented Students.
Brand also was award a proclamation from Suffolk County Leg. Jack Eddington last week.
