Missing Holbrook Man With Schizophrenia Found: Police

UPDATE: Ricci Esposito, 71, has been found unharmed, Suffolk police say.

HOLBROOK, NY — A Silver Alert issued for a missing Holbrook man, who suffers from bipolar schizophrenia, was recalled after he was found, Suffolk police said Saturday.

The Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk, allowing local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about people with special needs who have been reported missing.

Ricci Esposito, 71, left his home on Coates Avenue on Thursday between 5 and 7:30 p.m., police said, adding that he was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a burgundy thermal shirt, blue denim jeans, and brown boots.

Esposito is white, 6 feet 3 inches tall, 200 pounds, and has brown hair, brown eyes, and walks with a limp, police said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on Esposito’s location to call 911 or 5th Squad detectives in Patchogue at 631-854-8552.
