Teenage E-Bike Rider Seriously Injured In Hit-And-Run In Suffolk: Police
The teenager was struck by a car that was making a left turn, police say.
LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY — A teenager riding an electric bike was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Lake Ronkonkoma on Tuesday night, Suffolk police said.
A 13-year-old boy was riding an electric bicycle northbound on Hawkins Avenue when he was struck by a southbound 2012 white Ford Fusion as it turned left onto School Street at approximately 8:30 p.m., police said. The Ford driver continued traveling eastbound on School Street, police said.
The teenager was brought to a nearby hospital to be treated for serious injuries that are not life-threatening, police said.
