Best Market In Oakdale Will Close This Thursday
Another location of the grocery chain closes this week; Lidl will take over the space.
Oakdale, NY — Another location of Best Market will close tomorrow, Thursday February 13th, as part of a larger Long Island conversion of the grocery chain to Lidl stores. The supermarket, located at 4560 Sunrise Highway, will close its doors Thursday night at 8 p.m. according to a sign in the front window.
Lidl is a German chain that earlier this year announced they purchased 24 locations of Best Market, a Long Island company. Oakdale joins three other locations—Patchogue, East Meadow and Lake Grove— that will close and undergo renovations this year. The Patchogue store closed last month.
Lidl also opened new locations in West Babylon and Huntington Station. The Islip Best Market location remains open.
