Person Struck By LIRR Train On Long Island: MTA Police

SAYVILLE, NY — A trespasser was struck by a Long Island Rail Road train east of the Sayville station on Friday morning, a spokesperson for Metropolitan Transportation Authority police said.
The condition of the person is unknown at this time, according to the spokesperson.
The strike happened at around 8 a.m., causing delays along the Montauk Branch between Babylon and Patchogue stations.

Passengers from the train were "safely transferred" to another train around 9 a.m. and train service resumed with residual delays.
MTA police and LIRR supervision remained on the scene conducting an ongoing investigation.
