2 Sold Nicotine Products To Underage Person In Suffolk: Police

Flavored vape products were seized from the two stores that failed the check, police say. Ten businesses were checked overall, police say.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Two people were arrested in connection with selling nicotine products to an underage person during compliance checks at businesses in the Suffolk County Police Department's Fourth Precinct area, the department stated.

Officers, in response to community complaints, investigated the sale of nicotine products to minors during which 10 businesses were checked for compliance with the law, police said.

During the investigation, two businesses were found to be selling nicotine products to an underage person, police said. Employees at these shops were charged with second-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, police said:

  • Krypton Smoke Shop, located at 260 Smithtown Boulevard, Nesconset.
  • Hookah City, at 2700 Middle Country Road, Lake Grove.

Investigators seized flavored vape products from both locations, police said.

The employees were both issued desk appearance tickets and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
