  1. Smithtown officials are Celebrating Arbor Day 2023 by planting 200 spring trees in the neighborhood! The action brings awareness of the importance of trees in the community. Arbor Day will be observed on April 28. If you want a tree planted in front of your residence, contact the town at the Department of Environment and Waterways at DEW@smithtownny.gov or (631)360-7514.   2. Dirty Taco & Tequila is taking over the Green Turtle location in Smithtown. Owners shared the great news on a Facebook post. The new eatery will open in May, serving signature tacos and tequila. (Greater Long Island)
  3. The town of Smithtown is hosting its Household Hazardous Waste Day at the Collection event today at the Smithtown Municipal Services Facility in Kings Park. This event is for Smithtown Township residents only. This year, attendees who dispose of propane tanks or mercury-containing devices earn a $5 dollar Home Depot gift card. (Smithtown GOV.)
