  1. The Parish of St. Joseph Family Festival is set for Aug. 17-20. Festivities will be held at 59 Church St. in Kings Park, featuring food, rides, games, and more! (Smithtown Matters)
  2. Police released photos of four suspects who entered the abandoned Dowling College Campus in Oakdale. The group damaged a window to get into the building last weekend. Officials are asking for the public's help to identify them and help to stop this kind of issue that has been occurring very often on the site. (News 12 Long Island)
  3. Smithtown Performing Arts Center is a 90-year-old building representing so much for many in the community. Over $500,000 was invested in interior renovations in the past year in which LED lights were installed, new seats were placed, and a 'facelift' in several areas in the theater, plus plumbing, a new AC system, and so on! However, the restoration is far from ending. There is a plan to improve the exterior of the building. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
  4. A Lake Grove woman was nearly killed during a domestic violence attack in her house back on May 22. Her husband pleaded guilty to attempted murder and other charges. Their 17-year-old daughter witnessed the attack and helped her mother to flee from the scene to a neighbor's house to call the police. Read the whole story here. (Smithtown Patch)
