Accompsett Kids Get Lesson in Healthy Eating

Through the workshop the district used student "report cards" to see if they could successfully serve healthier food in the future.

Accompsett Elementary students were treated to a healthy eating workshop, while filling out "report cards" in an effort to help the district move toward serving lunch with a better nutritional value.

The kids learned from Robert Dell’Amore, a chef, educator and a creator of interactive nutrition workshops. The workshop the students were taught through was “The Power of FOOD: Eating Healthy is COOL!” The program was put together in conjunction with Regina Dunne, the director of the district's child nutrition program.

The fourth graders made two separate recipies and later ate their creations, to the fourth grade class.
