- Save the date for the Fourth Annual Commack Day! The event is scheduled for Sept. 30 at the Hoyt Farm. This family community event aims to raise funds for the Commack Fire Department, the Commack Ambulance Corps, and the Eric Spinato Foundation. Details can be found on the Smithtown Patch calendar. - The Friends of the Smithtown Library Awards 15th Annual Scholarship granted two Smithtown students a scholarship. Congratulations to Smithtown High School East graduates Taylor Saar and Emerson Cozine for their academic accomplishments. (Smithtown Matters)
- Smithtown Horizons Counseling Center is hosting a free event for the community on Sept. 8. All ages are invited to celebrate Recovery Month with fun activities for the family at the Branch Plaza (LA Fitness Shopping Center) from 4 to 7 p.m. (Smithtown Gov.)
- First responders rescued a family on Long Island Sound after their boat capsized. The group of four from Brentwood was pulled from the water on Monday night. Luckily, the 17-year-old teenager called 911 to report the accident. Read the whole story here. (LI News12)
