Dogwood Students Pay It Forward to Help
Smithtown elementary school's Leadership Club has holiday project to assist charity for kids with cancer.
The Leadership Club in Smithtown’s Dogwood Elementary School participated in a holiday stocking-stuffer project called Pay It Forward With Jackie.
In 2006, the then-3-year-old Jackie was diagnosed with cancer on Christmas Eve. After battling the disease twice in her young life, Jackie started this nonprofit organization to give stockings to children staying in local hospitals during the holidays, as well as children in need.
