Dr. Dana Reinecke Joins DDI as Director of Behavioral Health Services
With over 30 years of dedicated service to individuals with autism and I/DD, Dr. Reinecke brings a wealth of expertise and compassion to DDI

Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI) proudly announces the appointment of Dr. Dana Reinecke as the Director of Behavioral Health Services for its programs under the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). With over thirty years of dedicated service to individuals with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD), Dr. Reinecke brings a wealth of expertise and compassion to the role.
Dr. Reinecke, a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst at the doctoral level (BCBA-D), is also a licensed psychologist and behavior analyst in New York State. Her academic contributions include her tenure as Assistant Program Director at Capella University, where she mentored doctoral students and spearheaded the doctoral program in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Her scholarly work, published in respected journals and books, highlights her profound understanding of ABA and autism.

Dr. Reinecke’s career is marked by her commitment to advancing training and consultation within schools, agencies, and families. She has played a pivotal role in developing programs such as the transitional college/career companion initiative with ARC Lexington for high school students with autism. Additionally, Dr. Reinecke has held esteemed positions, including past president of the New York State Association for Behavior Analysis (NYSABA), and has been recognized by NYSABA, the Elija Foundation, and The Sage Colleges for her contributions to the field.
Dr. Reinecke resides in Long Beach, NY and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Psychology from Queens College, as well as a master’s degree and Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology from The Graduate Center, City University of New York.
