East Senior Receives Writing Excellence Award

Christine Davis takes home award from the National Council of Teachers of English.

East senior Christine Davis was honored with an achievement award for writing excellence from the National Council of Teachers of English.

Davis was one of 520 high school seniors honored from throughout the country, the Virgin Islands, Canada, and American schools abroad.

Established in 1957, the program was established to encourage high school students in their writing and to recognize publicly some of the best student writers in the nation. To participate, students write prose or verse and on impromptu themes that are written under supervision, and later judged by a team of English teachers.
