- Two years have passed since Kings Park teacher Anthony Mariano tragically lost his life in a wrong-way crash on Sunken Meadow Parkway. This week, ex-firefighter Anthony Mariano, who was behind the wheel on the evening of November 20, 2020, admitted he was responsible for the incident that also caused him to lose both legs. - As May sails off, it's time to warm up for the 2023 Family Concerts in the neighborhood! The Long Beach Pavilion in St. James will be the stage where many local artists will rock free evening performances starting Friday, June 23. - The Smithtown Patch congratulates teacher Ron Parmegiani for being nominated the Teacher Of The Year by Suffolk Region PTA. The Smithtown School District proudly announced Parmegiani's nomination and highlighted his dedication to the community as a math educator. (Smithtown Patch)
- Horizons Counseling and Education Center in Smithtown is now certified to offer Vivitrol to patients in treatment for alcohol dependence. The medication is administrated monthly as part of detoxification and helps to prevent relapse to opioids. The center offers treatments to Smithtown residents and within the community.
