Massaro's brain may be donated to a doctor who researches brain injuries. Massaro claimed the WWE did not properly treat her head injuries.

Massaro's brain may be donated to a doctor to study chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in professional wrestlers.
"It was her desire to donate her brain to be studied," her lawyer Konstantine Kyros told CNN.

Massaro, who suffered from depression, was among dozens of former wrestlers who sued the WWE in 2016 alleging that they had sustained head injuries that were not properly cared for.
"It’s May. It’s Mental Health Month … if you’re depressed and things aren’t going your way, there’s no reason to feel alone," former WWE star CM Punk said while discussing Massaro's death on WMGM.
Massaro left behind an 18-year-old daughter, Alexa. Fellow wrestlers have created a GoFundMe to raise money for Alexa's college education. Learn more here.

In 2007 when I got called up from developmental, Ashley Massaro was one of the locker room who reached her hand out and pulled me up to make me feel like part of the team and instilled a family attitude in the locker room. That kindness is rare and should never leave our business
